I’m a dreadfully inconsistent person. I’ve always been privy to that fact and have made several decisions throughout my life to try and change that. This site and its year old posts are one such example of my seemingly futile pursuit of bettering myself, and in a wholly self aware way, this here is yet another example.

When I look back on my prior routine of writing reviews, there are several roadblocks which stretched so far down the road I ended up giving it up. For one, I’m acutely aware I am and never will be a great writer, though even being at peace with that knowledge, I can’t help the cerebral summoning of an inner demon, haunting me with the simple message that whatever I’m currently writing isn’t good enough. I’m also just lazy, I have bad habits, and can never decide what I want.

In evaluating all the reasons prior endeavours to that end have failed I realise I need to break down as many barriers as possible, employing the same techniques described by many a guru might use to build good habits: make it easy, rewarding, and regular.

So that’s where “The Barrage” comes in, a weekly post where I can commend all great games in a (hopefully) regular fashion, and complain about the ones much less great. As is the nature of life, some weeks might be sparse, others quite dense, but with the goal in mind of consistency, I’m aspiring for something I can release in a timely and fulfilling manner.
